Preparation of fasting donuts
:
We put the flour in a bowl and make a hole in the middle of it. Heat the 50 ml of water (heat, do not boil!), Dissolve in it 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of sugar and 25 g of fresh yeast. After it has risen, roll the dough on the work surface sprinkled with flour and spread it by pressing to a thickness of 1 cm. We cut with a round metal shape (if you don't have one, you can also use a glass that you give before cutting through flour).

Leave them to rise for another 10 minutes, after which they are fried in hot oil. The fried donuts are removed on paper napkins to absorb the excess oil, after which they are powdered with powdered sugar.


Fasting post

I don't start with my childhood memories because I'm in a hurry, but I'm writing you that fasting donuts are a sweet that I hope you don't overlook just because they are almost identical to those with eggs and milk and the preparation procedure is same. Just don't forget the flavors, fasting sweets generally require more pronounced flavors.

Ingredients for approx. 20 pieces:

  • 250g flour
  • 12g fresh yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 25 ml oil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • approx. 150ml warm water
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • grated lemon peel

We still need 250ml of oil for frying.

1. Rub the yeast well with a teaspoon of sugar until it liquefies then add 1/2 teaspoon flour and 2-3 tablespoons warm water. Mix well and then let it do its job, that is, grow.

2. In a bowl sift the flour, add the rest of the ingredients and the yeast. Quickly knead a crumbly dough until it comes off the walls of the bowl, sprinkle a little flour on top and leave to rise covered for 1 hour.

3. Grease the worktop with a little oil and turn the dough upside down. We spread a sheet of about 1/2 cm and cut round shapes.

We put them on baking paper and let them rise for another 15 minutes.

Fry the donuts in hot oil so we take the donut and fry it with the top in oil, we practically turn them when we fry them.

We let them brown nicely on one side and on the other, some return on their own :) then we take them out on a plate over which we put a paper napkin to absorb the excess oil.

I powder them with sugar and then you know what's next :)

Fasting donuts in the oven - filled with WALNUT and GEM

I found a very good recipe for fasting donuts, baked in the oven. If you are on a diet, use less sugar, or replace it with stevia.

You can also use wholemeal or oatmeal to get some more dietary and nutritious donuts.

Fasting donuts in the oven - recipe

• 500 g of flour
• 250 ml of lukewarm water
• 100 g of raw sugar
• 10 g of dry yeast
• grated peel of 1 lemon / orange
• 1 teaspoon of rum essence
• 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
• 1 teaspoon of salt

• 200 g of plum or marmalade magic
• 50 g of ground walnuts

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water in a large bowl. Add salt, sugar, grated citrus peel, rum essence, vanilla sugar and 250 g of flour. Mix well until the ingredients are completely homogeneous. Stir in the rest of the flour and knead with your hands until you get a non-sticky dough. If it is too soft, add more flour. If it is too hot, add more lukewarm water.

Cover the bowl with a thick towel and leave the dough to rise for at least 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Simply mix the jam with the ground walnut kernels in a bowl. You need to get a thick cream. If you find it too thin, add more walnuts.

After doubling its volume, place the dough on the powdered table with a little flour. Knead it again with your hands, giving it a round shape. Then spread it out on a rectangular sheet. On the first half of the sheet, place 1 tablespoon of jam and walnut filling in place. You can use a pos if you have one, or a broken bag in the corner, to put the filling more easily on the sheet.

Then place the rest of the blank sheet on top of the filled sheet. The ends must join. To cut the donuts, use a round shape. Orient yourself after the filling, how big the shape should be (you can use the mouth of a cup or a glass). You will get double donuts, or ready covered.

Put a baking sheet in the oven tray. Place the donuts in the tray, leaving little space between them to allow them to grow. Cover the tray with plastic wrap and let the donuts rise for about a quarter of an hour.

Put the tray in the oven heated to 190 degrees and leave them for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

These donuts can also be prepared by frying in hot oil. Remove to a plate lined with a thick paper towel.

The donuts are powdered with vanilla powdered sugar or cinnamon, or glazed with melted chocolate. They are very good and simple.
