The food truck revolution is going strong, and Stonefire® Authentic Flatbreads is getting in on the action, with a little help from one of the nation’s top chefs. All spring and summer long, the popular company, which makes naan, pita, pizza crusts, and naan crisps, all without any artificial preservatives, flavors, or colors, will take to the road to hand out free samples of dishes created by none other than Top Chef’s Marcel Vigneron. The festivities kick off on April 1 in Los Angeles (when Vigneron himself will be handing out samples at The Americana in Glendale), and the truck will remain stationed in the city until April 12. Over the next few months, the truck will stop in San Francisco (April 16—26), Denver (May 2—3), Chicago (May 9—22), Atlanta (May 27—June 14), DC/ Baltimore (June 19—28), Philadelphia (July 2—12), Boston (July 16—26), and New York from July 30 to August 16.

Those who drop by the truck can look forward to sampling dishes devised by Vigneron, including the Sunny Side Mediterranean Naan (with hummus, artichokes, olives, Manchego, arugula, and a sunny side up egg); the Cali Greek Naan (with za’atar cucumber yogurt sauce, avocado, cherry tomatoes, and romaine); Forest Mushroom Pizza (with ricotta, mushrooms, prosciutto, and Parmigiano-Reggiano); and Chimi-Verde Dip (tomatillos, garlic, chile, avocado, herbs, and spices).

We had the opportunity to speak with Vigneron, who’s competed on Top Chef, Top Chef: All Stars, and Top Chef Duels and hosted SyFy’s Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen, and asked him some questions about his involvement with Stonefire. Here’s what he had to say!

The Daily Meal: How do you enjoy working with Stonefire?
Marcel Vigneron: They have been great! I don't typically work with other brands, but after trying their samples I felt like this was something I could get behind. Their products are extremely versatile, which allows you to get “cheffie” and really make them your own.

In what ways do you think people could be using flatbreads that they aren’t already?
With flatbreads, the possibilities are endless! You can honestly come up with any flavor combination from around the world and make it delicious.

Why do you think most Americans use bread or rolls instead of flatbread?
People use what they are comfortable with. Most typical Americans were raised on loaf bread, whereas Flatbread can be a little more intimidating for the average home cook. However, this extremely easy to use product is quite versatile, and even more forgiving than traditional white bread.

How did you come up with these recipes?
Before I agreed to work with Stonefire I had them send me the product line, and these were just some of the dishes that I whipped up at home while sampling the products.

What can people who visit the food truck look forward to?
People who visit the food truck can definitely look forward to trying some tasty treats as well as getting some one-on-one insider recipe info and demos.
