I find that a strawberry daiquiri will always turn out better using fresh strawberries and superfine sugar. Using superfine sugar will disolve instantly. If you have a good blender, blend granulated sugar (alone in the blender) for a good 20-30 seconds and you'll get your own superfine sugar. The rum quantity was great. I would leave out the carbonated beverage, though, because it takes away from the strawberry flavour.-15 May 2007

Made some changes ... but who doesn't? 1/2 cup sugar sounded too much, so I decreased 1/4 cup. Used a combination of Roses lime juice and fresh lime juice. Instead of lemon juice, substituted prepared orange juice. Be sure to blend this long enough to give sugar time to dissolve. Fantastic cocktail. My husband and I enjoyed a pitcher of these, congratulating ourselves for the $$ we saved, rather than ordering one after another in a bar!-02 Apr 2006

This recipe has some definite potential! It was tasty, but just too sour for my tastes. I'll make it again, but with less lemon and lime juice. The consistency was just right, and the pinky hue made it fun to drink .I made it without rum.-15 Mar 2003

While it&rsquos unlikely that many of us will be jet-setting off to beachy destinations this winter, we can still sit back and enjoy a sunny little spirited slushie from the comfort of our own home (no SPF needed). The strawberry daiquiri is our go-to tiki drink&mdashit&rsquos a fruity spin on a classic daiquiri, which is a perfectly balanced combination of rum, sweet (simple syrup), and sour (lime juice). The most important part of a delicious daiquiri is the quality of your ingredients: use good rum and avoid, at all costs, store-bought sour mix. We also added frozen strawberries&mdashthey&rsquore naturally sweet, refreshing, and allow you to skip the ice (which will water your drink down). FYI, if you love this cocktail, we think you&rsquoll also go crazy for our frosé recipe.

Have you ever had a strawberry daiquiri? If not, you&rsquoll fall in love with this one. This drink is like a cold, refreshing frozen slushy and vodka. Simple and tasty without a lot of fuss. In fact, it&rsquos so easy and non-fussy that you might be drinking two of these during a hot Summer day. It&rsquos a take off the classic daiquiri with the addition of some ice. Blended is our favorite way to enjoy this drink this frozen strawberry daiquiri. Everything about this screams Summer, party, celebrations and happy days.

Fresh or Frozen Strawberries ?

For this strawberry daiquiri recipe, you can use either and both are great. Frozen strawberries are easy if you don&rsquot have access to fresh peaches. And you can use less ice and frozen strawberries makes the drink more slushy. Also, it melts slower. If you have some really sweet and ripe fresh strawberries you can use those instead of frozen. Just make sure to use a little more ice. Or if you don&rsquot want the frozen strawberry daiquiri to be too slushy, you can use less. Customize the drink to your perusal liking and everyone will be happy. It&rsquos definitely a frozen cocktail drink to make everyone happy, especially when it&rsquos a hot day. You can double the recipe if you like to serve more. It all depends on how much to serve each person. Just please drink responsibly!

Fun Fact: The &ldquoDaiquiri&rdquo is named for a village in Cuba near where the cocktail was invented.

“What’s up? Not much over this way, just chillaxin and hoping to RHTS (raise hell this summer!)” Ha! Who else use to pass notes in high school and start them off that way?? Just me? Ok, maybe I’m telling my age. I was cleaning out my garage and came across my old high school yearbook, and a TON of those folded envelope-style letters (remember those).

After finding all those memories, I spent the next hour going down memory lane. Ahhhh, to be young and dumb again. What does this have to do with frozen strawberry daiquiris?

Frozen Daiquiris + Cute Boys+Secular Music=The BEST TEEN SUMMER EVER!

Well, I can’t see or hear the word daiquiri without thinking about that epic summer night of 1995! My grandma Barb and my mother went out of town and left my siblings and I home with my aunt Adri. Aunt Adri is “the fun” aunt! She always let my sisters and I venture out of our strict upbringing to explore the world, yet she was always there to keep us safe. Aunt Adri is the perfect blend of mother-aunt-bestie-ride or die, and all my friends loved her.

Well, that Saturday, Aunt Adri let us throw a mini house party! We had the speakers blasting the latest rap music (something my mother did not allow), had male friends over, and the daiquiris were flowing in every flavor under the sun!! For ONCE in our “church-going” lives, my sisters and I were “the cool kids” on the block!

That was the night I had my first alcoholic drink, a frozen strawberry daiquiri! Omg, it was soooo good! I may or may not have had a few too many! Yep, Aunt Adri , if you’re reading this, we spiked the drinks, sorry.

Frozen strawberry daiquiris remain one of my favorite cocktails to this day! Sweet and fruity always wins me over, and this frosty drink does not disappoint! It’s the perfect summer poolside companion.

Sweet, fruity and slightly tangy! I like my daiquiri’s on the sweet side with a faint rum taste and a faint lime aftertaste. You can adjust the measurements if you prefer a more tart and tangy daiquiri.

What Ingredients Goes Into A Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri?

Strawberries, lime juice, sugar, rum, and ice is all you’ll need to make these juicy strawberry daiquiris. Here’s the tea on all of the ingredients

Frozen Strawberries- This gives the daiquiri maximum strawberry flavor and requires less ice. It also gives an incredible creaminess.
Fresh Ripe Strawberries– Adding fresh strawberries lends a burst of strawberry flavor that only fresh strawberries can give and helps make blending easier. Make sure your strawberries are ripe and sweet.
Fresh Lime Juice– Adds tartness and amps up the strawberry flavor.
White Rum- This is just the right thing to do! Yes. Yes, it is.
Powdered Sugar- You NEED to add this. Don’t skip it, kay. It brings out ALL the flavors and makes this drink downright addictive.
Ice-Finishes it off with the perfect frosty texture!

How to make Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri from Scratch

Frozen daiquiris are so easy to make. To make a frozen strawberry daiquiri, add frozen strawberries, fresh strawberries, lime juice, and rum, into a blender. Blend until frosty. Next, blend in sugar . Taste. Finally, blend in the ice. Serve immediatly. Garnish with fresh strawberry and a lime slice.

Got a big party coming up or want to keep the daiquiris ready-to-go? MAKE DAIQUIRI CUBES!

Make up a batch of strawberry daiquiri and pour into ice cube trays. Freeze. Once frozen, carefully transport cubes to a gallon freezer bag and repeat until you have as many batches of daiquiris as your little heart desires. To make, place cubes into the blender, blend until smooth, add a splash of rum or strawberry juice if needed. Add more ice if desired.

What kind of rum for strawberry daiquiri?

White rum is used for strawberry daiquiris. I go light with this recipe but feel free to add as much or as less as you like.

How To Make a Virgin Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri?

To make this a virgin frozen strawberry daiquiri replace the rum with lemon-lime soda.

Stock your freezer with frozen strawberries and keep these frozen strawberry daiquiris flowing all summer! They are officially my “summer drink”! See ya later wine slushies…for now!

Oh and yep, you absolutely can change up the fruit! Peach, watermelon and pineapple coconut are amazing flavors!!


  • 2 ounces (60ml) aged rum
  • 3/4 ounce (20ml) fresh juice from 1 lime
  • 3/4 to 1 ounce (20-30ml) 1:1 turbinado simple syrup (see note)
  • Lime wheel and straw, for garnish (optional)

At least 8 hours before you plan to serve the drink, add rum, 3/4 ounce lime juice, and 3/4 ounce turbinado simple syrup to a resealable container or zipper-lock bag. Place batched mix in the freezer until freezer-cold, about 8 hours.

When ready to serve, pour mix into blender and add 8 ice cubes or 160 grams crushed ice. Pulse blender 5 times, then blend until uniform. Taste and add up to 1/4 ounce additional turbinado simple syrup as needed. Blend once more briefly and serve immediately, with a lime wheel and straw if desired.

If you want to make multiple drinks, you can pre-batch up to a double recipe (a blender may not hold much more than that easily) in a single container, add 14 ice cubes, then divide after blending if making more than two drinks, use separate containers to hold more servings.


Frozen strawberry daiquiri recipe - Recipes

A newsletter subscriber with an August birthday has asked me for a good strawberry daiquiri recipe or two. I can’t think of a more refreshing way to celebrate a birthday in the hottest month of the year (at least, it’s the hottest month where I live!) than with a cocktail as icy-cold and luscious as a frozen strawberry daiquiri.

This first recipe I think of as my own KISS (Keep It Simple, Sweetie) version that’s really quick and easy to crank out when a thirsty crowd is gathering around the blender. The other two recipes borrow gourmet elements that add a bit of elegance to the daiquiri bar. Each of these recipes, made in batches in a blender, relies on the four basic elements of a frozen strawberry daiquiri - light (silver) rum, strawberries, lime, and lots of ice.

Recipe #1 - KISS Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe

Fill a blender with crushed ice and add:
1 cup light rum*
1 small carton frozen strawberries in syrup
Juice from one lime

Blend until ice is crushed smooth and daiquiris are pretty and pink throughout.

*Light rum and silver rum are the same thing it’s a matter of distiller’s choice of which word to print on bottle labels. Light rum is NOT lower in calories, alcohol content, carbs, or anything else related to nutrition. With rum, the term light refers to color only light rum is clear like water instead of darker, like cola.

Recipe #2 - Strawberry Daiquiri with a French Twist

Fill a blender with crushed ice and add:
1 pint fresh strawberries, washed, with stems removed
1 cup light rum
1/2 cup cognac
1 jigger grenadine syrup
Juice from one lime

Blend this mixture until smooth and slushy.

Recipe #3 - Strawberries and Cream Daiquiri

Fill a blender with crushed ice and add:
1 cup light rum
1 small carton frozen strawberries in syrup
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 jigger maraschino cherry liquor, if desired
Juice from one lime

Blend till smooth and slushy.

For a presentation as delicious as it is attractive, frost the rim of the glass with sugar. To do so, rub a lime wedge around the rims of empty daiquiri glasses. Dip the now-damp rims of each glass into a shallow saucer holding a bed of granulated sugar. Give the glass a quick twist in the sugar to coat the entire rim. Top the glass with a strawberry sliced 1/2 to 2/3 of the way from tip to stem.

Many frozen strawberry daiquiri connoisseurs swear by fresh strawberries and will use nothing else. Strawberries are too seasonal for me to always use fresh I don’t want to eat or drink strawberries unless they are being freshly harvested where I live. Otherwise, they just don’t taste like strawberries. Substitute frozen or drained, canned strawberries during your locality’s off season for tastiest results with either of these frozen strawberry daiquiri recipes.

Tips for making a frozen daiquiri

A few things to keep in mind when you’re making this strawberry daiquiri recipe:

  • Use best quality rum. The better the quality of rum, the tastier the drink.
  • Use best quality frozen strawberries. We tried this with a few different types of frozen berries: it was much better with the best quality brand.
  • Freeze or chill your rum (optional). When we made this strawberry daiquiri recipe for the photographs here, we chilled our rum in a cocktail shaker to get it really cold. You also can throw the rum in the freezer the night before to keep the drink very cold.
